A 23-year-old woman riding a scooter was injured after colliding with an elephant crossing a national highway near Chakarpur in Uttarakhand. The impact reportedly broke one of the elephant’s tusks into three pieces. Forest officials recovered the ivory, installed trap cameras in the area and urged motorists to drive cautiously through the identified elephant corridor.
