The Mumbai-Pune Expressway "Missing Link" project is a INR 6,695-crore bypass project designed to eliminate the steep, landslide-prone Khandala Ghat section. Currently 94 per cent complete, the 13.3-km stretch features Asia's widest tunnels and a massive cable-stayed bridge. It is scheduled to officially open on May 1 (Maharashtra Day).
