The BJP–Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) combine looks set to take control of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) as trends on Friday showed the ruling Mahayuti alliance crossing the crucial halfway mark in the 227-member civic body. As of the latest updates, the BJP–Shiv Sena alliance is leading on 121 seats, while the newly allied Thackeray factions are trailing with leads on 81 seats.
