The Supreme Court on Monday declined to entertain a batch of petitions seeking action against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma over a controversial viral video. A bench led by Chief Justice Surya Kant directed the petitioners, which included leaders from the CPI and CPI(M), to instead approach the Gauhati High Court for an expedited hearing.
