Surender Panwar of the Congress won the Sonipat Vidhan Sabha constituency. Panwar defeated his nearest rival Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Kavita Jain by a margin of 32,878. Jain was the sitting MLA from the Sonipat assembly segment.
