Odisha Day is observed every year on April 1. On this day, the restricted holiday is observed in the state. During British rule, the northern and western districts of Odisha were incorporated into the Bengal presidency. In 1936, Odisha got carved out from the map of the Bengal presidency and formed a separate state.
