Pitru Paksha, which is also called "Shraddha Paksha", is a fortnight of Shradh, extending from Bhadrapada Purnima as per the dates in the traditional Hindu Calendar. It is a 16-lunar day period when Hindus pay tribute to their dead ancestors through shradh prayers and food offerings.
