A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partly obscuring the image of the Sun for a viewer on Earth. The hybrid solar eclipse, also known as the ‘annual ring of fire’ eclipse, will only be seen for a few seconds in the Indian and Pacific oceans.
