Narali Purnima is a major festival in the Konkan region of Maharashtra and is observed with great devotion by the fishing community. They pray to Lord Varun, the god of the sea and seek his blessings. Those who live close to the Western Ghats, the sea is their only source of sustenance, and hence they pray to God and ask for his blessings.
