World Sanskrit Day, also known as Sanskrit Diwas is observed to revive the ancient language of India. The Indo-Aryan language is celebrated on Shraavanapoornima of Shraavana month as per the Hindu calendar. World Sanskrit Day 2020 falls on August 3. The Sanskrit language is believed to have originated in India around 3500 years ago.
