A "No Objection Certificate" issued by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is going viral on social media, and allegedly claims to install a mobile tower at the recipient's location. The viral certificate is also seeking INR 2,500 as agreement fees for the same. A fact check by PIB revealed that the NOC is fake. PIB said that DoT has not issued such a certificate.
