A report in the Sydney Morning Herald stated that an IPL team had made the offer to both the cricketers to quit Australian cricket and feature in T20 leagues on a full-time basis. Both Pat Cummins and Travis Head play for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL after the 2016 champions signed them at the IPL 2024 auction.
