Meta has laid off nearly 8,000 employees globally as part of a restructuring focused on AI and operational efficiency. According to reports, affected US workers will receive 16 weeks of base pay, two additional weeks per year of service and 18 months of healthcare coverage. The company also plans to reduce managerial roles to create a flatter organisational structure.
