OpenAI has launched an AI-based age prediction system for ChatGPT to better identify users under 18 and apply enhanced safety restrictions. Using behavioural signals instead of self-reported age, the model strengthens teen protections, parental controls and content guardrails, while enabling secure verification for adults.
