India's spending on Research and Development (R&D) has doubled in the last one decade, from Rs 60,196 crore in 2013-14 to Rs 1,27,381 crore, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh said on Monday, underscoring the role of government-backed initiatives in catalysing scientific advancements in the country.
