A newly discovered asteroid, designated 2024 YR4, has emerged as a significant subject of study for astronomers after data suggested it has a small but notable chance of striking the Moon in May 2032. Current projections from NASA and international space agencies place the probability of a lunar impact at approximately 1 in 25, or 4%.
