Russia urged the United States to comply with international maritime law after U.S. authorities seized the Russian-flagged oil tanker Marinera in the North Atlantic. Moscow termed the action a gross violation of freedom of navigation, saying Washington was repeatedly informed that the vessel was civilian and lawfully registered under the Russian flag.
