Travelling by Indian trains may not be your first option, but it undeniably gives you a plethora of experiences. And the recent one that could make the list of while travelling by an Indian train is a railway station. Have you ever heard of Navapur Railway Station? Navapur, a Nagar Panchayat (municipality) in the state of Maharashtra has a railway station which is not situated in the state alone. The railway station is located in Gujarat and Maharashtra.

While half of the station is situated in one state and the rest is in the neighbouring state, which means a train that halts at Navapur Railway station is stationed half in Maharashtra and half in Gujarat! Navapur is approximately 100 km both from Surat and Nagar Panchayat constitutes people of Marathi, Bhil and Gujarati communities.

Railway Minister, Piyush Goyal on Wednesday took to Twitter sharing a picture of Navapur Railway Station writing, "Separated by States, United by Railways: The Navapur Railway Station is located in two states, with half of the station being located in Maharashtra and the other half in Gujarat. Navapur is Taluka Headquarter in Nandurbar district, Maharashtra."

However, Navapur is not the only train station in the country to built on two states, Bhiwani Mandi railway station also has some interesting facts attached to it. Bhiwani Mandi railway station falls in both Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. What is amusing at the Mandi railway station is that while the ticket distributing staff sits in Madhya Pradesh, those buying the ticket are standing in Rajasthan.

The station has been built on a location that its ticket booking counter falls in Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh whereas the entry gate of the station and the waiting room falls in Jhalawar district of Rajasthan. It is not sure if the station was built in that fashion on purpose or not. The Indian Railways is the world's third largest rail network which runs through different kinds of geographic locations. Run by the Ministry of Railway, it manages the fourth-largest railway network in the world by size.
