A major tragedy was averted in Kodenchery in Kerala on Sunday. According to a report published in Manorama Online, on January 30, a lorry laden with rice straw caught fire after coming in contact with an overhead power line. The driver of the vehicle jumped out of the truck after the vehicle caught fire. Suddenly, a man, identified as Shaji Varghese, came to the rescue of the driver. Varghese jumped into the lorry and drove it into an empty playground and avoided the tragedy.
