The high court bench of Justice G Jayachandran directed the Tamil Nadu police to allow the RSS to hold "route marches" across 35 locations in the State on October 22 and 29 this year.
The Madras High Court recently said that refusing permission for Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Tamil Nadu, citing mosques and churches along the route, is against secularism. The court observed that the Tamil Nadu government's decision to refuse permission to RSS to hold a route march and public meetings in the State goes against the principle of secularism envisaged by the Constitution.
