A dramatic robbery attempt at a jewellery shop in Ranip turned into a viral sensation on Thursday after a woman posing as a customer tried to rob the store using chilli powder - only for her plan to backfire spectacularly. CCTV footage shows the woman throwing chilli powder at the jeweller, hoping to blind him and snatch ornaments. But the powder missed its mark, and the alert jeweller leapt over the counter, raining blows on her before pushing her out of the shop. The incident took place near Ranip vegetable market. Police identified the woman as a habitual offender and are probing if she’s linked to other similar crimes.
