Boeing issued its first official statement following the preliminary report by India’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) into the Air India Flight AI171 crash in Ahmedabad, which killed 260 people, including 242 passengers and crew. In a statement released Saturday, Boeing expressed condolences to the victims’ families and said it would fully support the ongoing investigation. “Our thoughts remain with the loved ones of the passengers and crew on board Air India Flight 171,” the company said. Boeing added that, in line with international aviation protocol (ICAO Annex 13), it would defer to the AAIB to release any updates or findings.
