In a shocking incident in Uttar Pradesh, a young man was assaulted and tied to a tree, allegedly over a love marriage. The unfortunate incident occurred in the Phaphund area of Auraiya district. A video of the incident surfaced online shows the man, identified as Upendra, being tied to a tree and subjected to extreme cruelty by several people, including his wife Kalpana's cousin in Auraiya. It is reported that Upendra was forced to wear a garland of shoes and slippers. Later, he was paraded through the village streets. The incident took place when Kalpana had come to her maternal grandparents' village and had called Upendra there. It is learnt that it was there that Kalpana's cousin assaulted Upendra.
