The Election Commission will announce the Schedule of General Elections to Legislative Assemblies of Nagaland, Meghalaya and Tripura today, January 18. The ECI will announce the schedule for Assembly elections in the three states at 2:30 pm today. Last week, a team headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar visited the three northeastern states and held a series of meetings with the political parties besides state, central security, and civil officials. It must be noted that the five-year term of assemblies of Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Tripura will end on March 12, March 15, and March 22, respectively.
