Hamirpur Shocker: Journalists Stripped, Thrashed and Forced to Drink Urine in UP, Probe Ordered After Video Goes Viral

In Hamirpur’s Sarila town, two journalists, Amit Dwivedi and Shailendra Mishra, reported a brutal assault by local civic chairman Pawan Anuragi and his associates. According to the journalists, they were lured to a location, stripped, and beaten, with weapons forced into their hands as their photos and videos were taken. They were also forced to drink urine. They allege this assault was retaliation for publishing a story critical of Anuragi. The incident has sparked political backlash, with the Samajwadi Party accusing the BJP government of failing to protect press freedom. Police have filed an FIR against Anuragi and eight others, and investigations are underway.
