The Jammu and Kashmir Police have released the sketches of six terrorists who infiltrated from Pakistan into the Basantgarh area of Udhampur district. The terrorists targeted a Village Defence Guard (VDG) in a gunfight before fleeing deep into the forest.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police have released the sketches of six terrorists who infiltrated from Pakistan into the Basantgarh area of Udhampur district. The terrorists targeted a Village Defence Guard (VDG) in a gunfight before fleeing deep into the forest. The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Udhampur, Joginder Singh, announced the first breakthrough in the case with the arrest of an overground worker. This individual had provided logistic support to the terrorists. The sketches of the six terrorists, two of whom are believed to be brothers, were prepared based on inputs from various agencies, the public, and questioning of suspected persons. VDG Mohd Sharief was martyred in an encounter with the terrorists following a cordon and search operation in Panara village of Basantgarh on April 28. The police are continuing their investigation and are urging the public to come forward with any information that could lead to the capture of these terrorists.
