Kolkata Police has issued a clarification after a social media user questioned why the cops informed the RG Kar rape-murder victim’s family that the deceased had died by suicide. The X user, by username @_TheEnigmous, further claimed that the police cremated the body in a "hurried manner". In response, the police said the reports claiming the Kolkata Police informed the family about a possible suicide are false, and the victim's family confirmed the call about the possible suicide did not come from the police. The Kolkata Police also clarified that they did not cremate the body of the deceased.
