Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, in a surprise move, decided to contest Lok Sabha elections, and on Thursday, he filed his nomination from Uttar Pradesh's Kannauj constituency. Kannauj goes to polls on May 13. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Subrata Pathak from this seat. In the 2019 general elections, BJP's Subrata Pathak had defeated Akhilesh Yadav's wife Dimple Yadav from Kannauj. Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Akhilesh Yadav To Contest From Kannauj Seat in Uttar Pradesh; To File Nomination on April 25.
