According to a report in India Today NE, the incident occurred on Tuesday night, December 16, when cops intercepted a vehicle which had illegally entered the railway tracks near Dimapur railway station. A potential mishap was averted, ensuring the safety of passengers and railway property, as the vehicle was intercepted in time. Cops said that the incident occurred on December 16, 2025, at around 11:35 PM, when a Mahindra Thar bearing registration number NL-01/CA-8181 strayed onto the railway tracks leading towards the Dimapur station platform from the MXN side. It is reported that the vehicle was stranded on Line No. 1 near the old flyover area at Burma Camp. After being alerted, cops reached the spot and safely removed the car from the tracks without causing any injury to passengers. The police also arrested the driver of the vehicle.
