In a bizarre incident, a prisoner criminal managed to escape from police custody despite being shackled with iron chains in Odisha. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media. The escape occurred while the police team was reportedly relaxing in an air-conditioned hotel room. The criminal, identified as Jual Sabar, a resident of Gajapati district, was arrested on October 27 by the Akola Police of Maharashtra on charges of smuggling ganja. After his arrest and subsequent presentation before the magistrate, Jual was taken on remand for further investigation. The Akola Police had brought him to the Mohana area for this purpose when the escape took place.
