Punjab Congress leader and former Bathinda (Rural) president Khushbaz Singh Jattana was killed in a hit-and-run accident on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway on Thursday evening. The incident occurred near the Jakhauli toll plaza in Sonipat when a speeding truck rammed into Jattana’s stationary Land Rover Defender. Jattana and his driver, Parminder Singh, were standing outside the vehicle to repair a flat tyre when the collision occurred; both died on the spot. His gunman, Harandeep Singh, sustained critical injuries and is undergoing treatment. Police have registered an FIR and launched a manhunt for the truck driver, who fled the scene.
