A 26-year-old man from Ernakulam, Kerala, has tested positive for Mpox after returning from the UAE. He is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital, and his samples were confirmed at the National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Alappuzha. This marks the second Mpox case in Kerala and the third in India this year. Genomic sequencing of the virus is being conducted at NIV Pune. Earlier, a 38-year-old man from Malappuram tested positive for the Clade 1b strain of Mpox.
