BJP district secretary of Sivaganga, Selvakumar, was brutally murdered by unknown assailants last night, July 27. Reportedly, the attack occurred while he was returning home on his two-wheeler from the brick kiln he owned. A group of men surrounded him and hacked him to death, leaving him on a roadside before fleeing from the scene. SP Dongre Praveen Umesh formed special teams to nab the accused, and the Sivaganga taluk police have launched an investigation. State BJP chief K Annamalai offered condolences to Selvakumar's family and assured support from the party. Annamalai blamed the DMK government for the deteriorating law and order, calling Tamil Nadu the "capital of murders" and accusing the chief minister MK Stalin of running a political drama while anti-social elements operate without fear.
