Communist Party of India (Marxist) general secretary Sitaram Yechury passed away on Thursday, September 12, at AIIMS, New Delhi, after battling a respiratory tract infection. Sitaram Yechury breathed his last at 72. He was admitted to AIIMS New Delhi on August 19 for treatment of a pneumonia-like chest infection.
