A beautiful video has resurfaced online where Bioluminescence was seen turning the waves light up to bright blue in California in the past month. The video shows ocean waves with bright blue colours crashing on the shore. For the unversed, bioluminescence is caused by tiny microorganisms emitting light from their bodies and lighting up the ocean. In the daytime, these microorganisms turn the water into a “murky brown shade,” known as the “red tide.” However, at night, they turn the ocean into bright blue, which can be witnessed when the water gets disturbed by the boat, or simply when the waves break.
