Tamil YouTuber Irfan has landed up in a controversy after publicly disclosing the gender of his unborn child, a practice that is illegal in India. The Tamil Nadu Health Department is reportedly taking action against him for this act. Irfan and his wife Aaliya documented the sex reveal of their child in two videos on his YouTube channel. The first video shows the couple visiting a hospital, interacting with medical professionals, and Aaliya undergoing a gender determination test. Notably, Irfan acknowledges at the outset that while the practice is illegal in India, it is lawful in Dubai, where the test was conducted. The second video showcases their ‘Gender Reveal Party’, attended by family and friends, including actress and ‘Bigg Boss Tamil 7’ alum Maya S Krishnan. Both videos have since gone viral on various social media platforms, triggering widespread discussion. The videos were later removed from his youtube channel.  The controversy highlights the ongoing issues surrounding the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act, also known as the Prohibition of Sex Selection Act. Enacted by the Indian Parliament in 1994, the Act prohibits the use of any methods to ascertain the gender of a fetus after conception. YouTuber Irfan Lands in Trouble for Revealing Sex of His Unborn Child in Gender Reveal Video; Gets Notice Issued by Tamil Nadu Health Department.
