Chirag Chikkara won the gold medal in the men's 57kg event at the U23 World Wrestling Championships on October 27. The 18-year-old grappler defeated Kyrgyzstan's Abdymalik Karachov 4-3 to take home the top prize on offer. With this victory, Chirag has become just the second Indian male wrestler to win the gold medal at the U23 World Championships as he joins Aman Sehrawat, who had achieved a similar feat back in 2022. Earlier, Chirag had gotten the better of Kazakhstan's Allan Oralbek in the semifinal.
