The game of cricket, over the years, has witnessed several reasons for interruptions and this one might go down as one of the rarest of them all. An earthquake in Bangladesh stopped proceedings on Day 3 of the BAN vs IRE 2nd Test 2025, at the Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka. A viral video showed the camera being jolted by the tremors and the players who were on the field were left surprised. Some fans in the stands were seen leaving the stadium while the other players and support staff of the teams were seen standing near the boundary line. As per reports, it was a 5.5 magnitude earthquake which stopped play for around three minutes, the epicentre of which was around 40 kilometres away from the Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium, the venue for the Bangladesh vs Ireland 2nd Test match.
