Jonny Bairstow was not particularly pleased with the extremely long trip that the England team had to undertake to India for the ICC World Cup 2023. The England wicketkeeper-batter took to his Instagram story to share a picture from inside the flight which was a very crowded one. While sharing the picture, he wrote, "UTTER CHAOS..LAST LEG INCOMING...BEEN SOME TRIP...38 HOURS AND COUNTING...". The England cricket team arrived in Guwahati earlier and would prepare to play the ICC World Cup 2023 warm-up match against India on September 30. England begin their ICC World Cup title defense against New Zealand on October 5.
