Batting first, Ireland could only post a meagre 125/8 and in response, Namibia stormed to a win by eight wickets with nine balls to spare. Skipper Gerhard Erasmus struck a fifty while all-rounder David Wiese blasted 28 runs off just 14 balls to secure the historic victory.
Namibia qualified for the T20 World Cup 2021 Super 12 stage in grand fashion, beating Ireland in a must-win encounter in Dubai on Friday. This was the very first time Namibia made it to the Super 12 stage in their very first T20 World Cup.
