Liverpool stunned by Napoli in their opening game of the UEFA Champions League 2022-23 campaign as they endured a 1-4 loss at Napoli today, September 8. It is the joint biggest defeat for the Reds in the European tournament. Piotr Zielinski netted a brace, Andre-Frank Anguissa and G Simeone scored a goal each for the home side while Luis Diaz pulled one back for the visitors. It must be noted that Liverpool were the runners-up in the last season's UCL.
