Microsoft Research has launched Aurora, a new AI foundational model that can help in weather prediction and mitigation. The tech giant also said that Microsoft Aurora would help accurately forecast climate change effects. According to the official post, Microsoft's first large-scale foundation model of the atmosphere is versatile and can forecast a wide range of atmospheric variables, including temperature, windspeed, concentrations of greenhouse gases, air pollution levels, etc. Microsoft Aurora's architecture can predict at different resolutions and fidelity levels.
