Elon Musk's Neuralink company, known for the brain chip implant, received a 'Breakthrough Device Designation' from the FDA for a Blindsight device. The tech billionaire said that the new Blindsight device from Neuralink would enable people who lost both their eyes to see through their optic nerve. Musk said, "Provided the visual cortex is intact, it will even enable those who have been blind from birth to see for the first time." First, the vision will be set at a lower resolution, similar to Atari graphics, he added. Elon Musk suggested that it would eventually help people to see better than natural vision and allow them to see infrared, ultraviolet and radar wavelengths like Geordi La Forge.
