Netizens reported on social media platform X that their UPI services were down and they were unable to make payments. India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) faced widespread disruptions this evening, as users across multiple apps reported failed transactions. Complaints surged on X, with people unable to send money, pay merchants, or scan QR codes despite trying different banks and networks. Netizens shared screenshots showing errors such as “service provider not available” on Google Pay, PhonePe, and Paytm. Posts included, “UPI down – tried three banks, still failing”, “GPay down or UPI down?”, and urgent tags to @UPI_NPCI. NPCI has not yet confirmed a full outage. Users were advised to try alternatives or wait for a resolution. Downdetector.in data shows over 250 complaints, with users reporting failed transactions and access issues across multiple apps.
