Slovakia Prime Minister Robert Fico is in life-threatening condition after he was shot multiple times in an assassination attempt after a government meeting on Wednesday. "He was shot multiple times and is currently in a life-threatening condition. At this moment he's being transported by helicopter to Banská Bystrica, because it would take too long to get to Bratislava ... The next few hours will decide," the official statement read. The shooting took place after an off-site government meeting in Handlova. The suspected gunman was detained at the scene by law enforcement officers.
