Sajeeb Wazed Joy, speaking from the United States, told the Times of India that Hasina is currently in India and will return as soon as elections are announced. The interim government excludes Hasina's Awami League party, following a student-led uprising that resulted in her departure amid nationwide violence, which left approximately 300 dead and thousands injured. Hasina is currently staying in a safe house near New Delhi, with reports suggesting she might seek asylum in Britain, though the British Home Office has not commented.
