Kumar has been in fine form at the 2019 Cricket World Cup and has already taken five wickets from two games. He was instrumental to India’s convincing 36-run victory over Australia in the previous match after he took two wickets in a single over to bring India back into the contest. Kumar removed Steve Smith (69 runs) and Marcus Stoinis (0) in the 40th over to give his side a great chance of sealing an important victory over the defending champions.
This is, however, not the first injury blow India has suffered in World Cup 2019.
