CCTV video from the premises captured the boy near the bus and later showed him hanging from the vehicle with his neck caught in the automatic door.

Missing CCTV Footage Raises Questions

The CCTV recording shows the boy moving around the bus before later capturing him hanging from the vehicle with his neck trapped in the hydraulic door mechanism. However, the crucial footage showing how the boy approached the bus or attempted to open the door is missing.

Garage owner Nikunj Patel said a power outage or a technical problem may have prevented the CCTV system from recording those minutes. The missing footage has raised questions among locals and investigators about the exact sequence of events and whether there was any foul play. Gujarat: 3 Dead After Card Players Fall Into Open Well Amid Suspected Police Raid Scare in Bhavnagar.

Garage Owner Recounts Incident

Patel said he was at his residence when the incident occurred and that no workers were present inside the garage at the time.

"I was scolding an employee over the phone when my brother, sitting beside me, happened to check the live CCTV feed of the garage," Patel explained. "He spotted the child hanging from the bus door."

Patel said he immediately sent workers to the garage and alerted local authorities after his brother noticed the child on the CCTV feed.

Police reached the garage after receiving information about the incident. Senior officers have registered a case and begun investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone 3, Abhishek Gupta, said, "The incident occurred on Wednesday evening, resulting in the tragic death of the child. Preliminary investigation suggests that the boy got trapped while attempting to open the hydraulic door, leading to his death after his neck became stuck. However, we are investigating the case from all possible angles."

Police are examining the bus mechanism and other technical aspects of the vehicle as part of the investigation.

Family Left In Mourning

The deceased boy's father works at a nearby garage in the same area. According to his parents, the child had left home saying, "I am going to get prasad," before the incident.

The boy's death has left the working-class family mourning. Police are now reviewing the available CCTV footage, examining the bus mechanics, checking technical data and questioning local witnesses. The investigation is aimed at establishing how the boy became trapped and determining the reason for the missing portion of the CCTV recording.
