Mahendra Singh Dhoni almost wove his magic for the Men in Yellow in their last encounter which was against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). With several teams breathing down their neck, they will have to lift the game soon. A game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at home poses a challenge which they will relish. Hyderabad seem to have got over their bad phase that hampered their progress in the points table. SRH vs CSK – April 17 2019 – Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Hyderabad – SRH won by 6 wickets

Rashid Khan snapped up two wickets and was helped by rest of the Hyderabad’s bowling unit to help keep a lid on Chennai’s scoring. CSK ultimately finished with below-par total of 132/5 with Faf Du Plessis’ 45 the only meaningful contribution. The fifties from David Warner and Johnny Bairstow was enough for the hosts to target down the score with ease.

SRH vs CSK – May 27 2018 – Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai – CSK won by 8 wickets

The final between the two sides in the 2018 IPL was a one-sided affair with Shane Watson blasting a century in CSK’s successful chase of 179 runs. The Australian opener remained not out on 117 from 57 balls to steer his team home while the rest of the pack was hardly needed. Earlier a quickfire 45 from Yusuf Pathan had helped SRH post 178 on board.

SRH vs CSK – May 22 2018 – Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai – CSK won by 2 wickets

South African skipper Faf Du Plessis once again showed why he excels in pressure situation helping Chennai come out of a perilous situation. CSK were reduced to 62/6 in pursuit of 140 runs with Siddarth Kaul and Rashid Khan blowing away the top order. But Faf stuck a useful partnership with Shardul Thakur to win the game.

CSK vs SRH – May 13 2018 – Sahara Stadium, Pune – CSK won by 8 wickets

Openers Ambati Rayudu and Shane Watson put up a 134 run stand at top to script an 8 wicket win over Hyderabad chasing down 180. None of the SRH bowlers could come to the grip against a quality batting performance by their illustrious opponents gifting away the game.

SRH vs CSK – April 22 2018 – Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Hyderabad – CSK won by 4 runs

Kane Williamson heroics with the bat went in vain as Hyderabad went down by 4 runs again Chennai at home. Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu hit the fifties to help CSK reach 182/3 batting first in their twenty overs. Hyderabad were on course to bag a victory, but Williamson’s dismissal completely changed the complexion of the tie.

Hyderabad will be fairly confident they can do the double over Chennai this season after suffering four defeats against them last season including the summit clash.
