After having quite a tough time at the Ashes 2019, David Warner has come back to his original form. The Australian opener as he once again scored a half-century in the third T20I against Sri Lanka at the MCG in Melbourne and played a vital role in winning the three-game T20I series by 3-0. Scoring 57 runs in the third game, Warner emulated the record of Virat Kohli for scoring third consecutive fifty. He is the third batsman to have scored three consecutive fifties after Virat Kohli and Colin Munro. Warner not only walked away with the Man of the Match award but also the Player of the Series gong. In this series, Warner’s score in the last three T20Is read 100, 60 and 57 and the left-hander remained not out on all the three occasions. With this, he has scored 217 runs in three games and remained unbeaten on the score of 57 runs. Only Colin Munro has more runs than the left-hander in three-match T20I series. David Warner becomes the first opening batsman to remain unbeaten in every match of a T20I series comprising of three or more games.

After the match, Warner said, “I'm happy with my form personally. It helps to get back into form with the small total on the board. Fewer risks to take. We are looking ahead to take on Pakistan at the SCG, so looking forward to that. Lots of pace in that attack, and hopefully I'll find the gaps and not the fielders in the series.” The team will next face Pakistan in the T20I series starting from November 3rd 2019.
